At first glance, this periodical comprised two series published between 1911 and 1928. The first series consisted of three volumes, while the second was a single volume containing three issues. Initially, the editorial board was composed of Afonso de Dornelas and Alberto de Gusmão Navarro. By volume III (1926), Alberto de Gusmão Navarro had assumed the role of director. The editorial office of the Tombo Histórico Genealógico de Portugal was located at Rua de Sant'Anna À Lapa, 75. Typesetting and printing were handled by Livraria Ferin typographies [,] in Rua Nova do Almada (Vols. I and II), "Elite" [,] at Rua do Limoeiro, 7 (Vol. III), and "Tombo Histórico" at Rua de Sant'Anna À Lapa, 77 (Vol. I) [,] 2nd Series). Published in Lisbon, the periodical targeted an educated audience. In terms of structure [,] it was not formally divided into thematic sections. Each issue generally included a note from the director(s) and a list of articles. It is noteworthy that the third volume of the first series contains only the critical edition of Afonso Torres' nobiliary, prepared by Alberto de Gusmão Navarro. Additionally, the first volume of the first series features a detailed and exhaustive onomastic index. The number of copies printed for the first volume (1911) remains unknown. Three hundred copies were printed of the second (1914) and third (1926) volumes. The volume of the second series (1928) had four hundred copies printed on Vergé paper and one copy on Whatman paper. The cover price of the first volume is unknown. The second volume cost sixty escudos, while the third volume was published in three instalments, each costing eleven escudos. For the second series, the first issue of the first volume was priced at ten escudos.
